Aeration Tanks Exterior Structural Rehabilitation

The City of Bristol, Connecticut invites qualified contractors to perform a comprehensive exterior structural rehabilitation of its existing aeration tanks. This work focuses on restoring the integrity of the tanks’ concrete walls by repairing spalls, scaling, cracks, and general deterioration. In addition to concrete repair, the project requires the replacement of all expansion joint materials, the installation of supplemental reinforcement where needed, and the application of a protective coating system to the exterior surfaces.

The rehabilitation must use durable, industry‑standard materials well suited to the environmental conditions of a wastewater treatment facility. Concrete repair should achieve a depth sufficient for structural stability, expansion joints must be fitted with elastomeric components compatible with the tank’s movement and chemical exposure, and any added reinforcement must conform to the design drawings. The exterior protective coating system shall provide long‑term resistance to chemical attack and environmental weathering. All repairs and coatings shall meet ASCE 7 and relevant ASTM standards.
