Escalator Machined Parts Framework

AI Summary

Transport for London has issued a preliminary market engagement notice to gather supplier input on an upcoming Escalator Machined Parts Framework. The purpose of the framework is to supply a wide range of replacement and repair components for TfL’s escalator maintenance portfolio, enabling its in‑house workforce to perform planned and reactive maintenance across the network. The engagement seeks to understand market capability, capacity, appetite and perceived risks, while allowing TfL to shape the commercial and procurement strategy ahead of the formal tender process.

The framework covers a diverse set of escalator machinery parts, including balustrade skirting panels, handrail mouldings, handrail drive assemblies (newel wheels, shafts and sprockets), main drive shaft assemblies, comb plate and switch assemblies, step‑guide roller assemblies (treadformer rollers and pins), countershaft assemblies, track components (main and return tracks, swing and up‑thrust sections, chains, and wear strips), and carriage elements such as idler shafts and step chain assemblies. These components must conform to all UK safety, performance and durability standards required for escalator operation.
