Tenderwell MCP setup guide

How to connect ChatGPT to Tenderwell

Add Tenderwell to your ChatGPT workspace, or connect it from the Codex CLI in your terminal. Then search tenders and organizations by asking ChatGPT.

Connect Tenderwell in your ChatGPT workspace

Set it up in a few clicks.

This workspace setup is available on ChatGPT web for Business and Enterprise/Edu. Business requires an admin or owner. Enterprise/Edu also allows members granted the “Create plugins with MCPs” permission.

Open Plugins in ChatGPT

If you have one of the eligible roles above, open ChatGPT on the web in your workspace and go to Plugins. Select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.

Other workspace members: ask an admin or owner to create, test and publish Tenderwell, then install it from Plugins and connect your Tenderwell account. If you use a personal ChatGPT account, use Claude or the Codex CLI instructions below; this guide covers workspace connections.

Connect Tenderwell from the Codex CLI

For developers who prefer the command line.

Codex CLI

  1. 1

With Codex CLI installed, add the Tenderwell MCP server:

codex mcp add tenderwell --url https://tenderwell.com/mcp
  2. 2

Run this command, then sign in to Tenderwell and approve access in your browser:

    codex mcp login tenderwell
  3. 3

Start a new Codex session and ask it to use Tenderwell to find tenders. Inside Codex, use /mcp to check the connected servers.

Troubleshooting the Tenderwell connection in ChatGPT

The workspace setup works on ChatGPT web for Business and Enterprise/Edu. On Business, an admin or owner sets it up. On Enterprise/Edu, members with the “Create plugins with MCPs” permission can set it up too. With a personal ChatGPT account, use Claude or the Codex CLI instead.
